On the 1st November 2011
Nick Franklin
was blown up by an improvised explosive device while on patrol in Helmand Province, Afghanistan. At the age of 27 his injury led to the end of his Army career. Whilst going through recovery he was introduced to golf as a game he could learn and play with his prosthetic leg. He was instantly hooked, and now plays to a handicap of 14.2.
The challenge
From the 12th - 16th June Nick will walk from Woburn Golf Club to The Nottinghamshire GC, his home club accompanied by the club’s General Manager Jane Rudkin. Nick will play a round of golf to start and finish the challenge. Nick and Jane will be raising money for the On Course Foundation and to mark this challenge the club are holding a pairs competition, raffle and auction for members and guests, including some of our beneficiaries.
There are some fantastic auction items to bid on and some great raffle prizes to be won.
