On Course Foundation: Our Team


Meet the experienced and dedicated professional team behind On Course Foundation.

Alistair McKay Forbes - Managing Director

Alistair joined On Course Foundation as Managing Director in February 2016. After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant he joined IMG where he worked for 34 years within the world of sport. Initially involved in tennis and racket sports, he relocated to Hong Kong in the early 1980s to set up the company's Asian operations before returning to London and its golf tournament division in 1987 - creating and organising over 150 professional men's, women's and seniors golf tournaments over the next twenty five years. A member of St George's Hill Golf Club and the R&A, unfortunately his involvement in the professional game over many years has not helped with the development of his own abilities on the course.

Anne Farrow - Office and Activities Manager

Anne joined On Course Foundation in 2012. She previously worked for IMG in London and Sydney for most of her career. She has also lived and worked in both France and Hong Kong and continues to travel the world with every opportunity she gets. As well as being a keen tennis player, Anne has recently taken up golf in the last few years. 

Will Barker - Head of fundraising

Will joined On Course Foundation in April 2015. Growing up on the South Ayrshire coast, his previous employment was at Turnberry Golf Club where he worked as a Golf Coordinator. Graduating from Stirling University in 2012 with an honours in Sports Studies. Will’s subsequent hobbies include football and golf – directing a lot of his passion and heartache towards Newcastle United. Moving back to South Ayrshire, Will now heads up the programme in both Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Mark Schorah - Head of Events and Employment

Mark joined On Course Foundation in May 2015 and is originally from Teesside. He had a 25 year career in the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers and is now settled in Nottingham. After leaving the Army in January 2012 he worked for Recovery Career Services as a Specialist Employment Consultant for wounded, injured and sick Service leavers. An avid supporter of Middlesbrough FC, his playing days are firmly behind him. His sporting passions are now golf and cycling.

Supporting the day-to-day operations of the Foundation are two current long-term beneficiaries who assist in planning, implementing and delivering our activities. There experience of using golf has a vehicle for their own recovery has allowed us to shape our programme. 

Vikrant Gurung - Media and Administration Assistant

'G' has been a beneficiary of On Course Foundation since 2010 but joined the staff on a part-time basis in June 2016 after a role with Callaway Golf Europe in the marketing department. After finishing a diploma in Travel and Tourism in 2005 he joined the Army (1st Royal Green Jackets) and his Army career started by being deployed to Iraq for six months. He completed tours of Northern Ireland and Kosovo but in 2013 he was medically discharged from the Army due to a life-changing injury sustained in his Afghanistan tour in 2009. This resulted in the amputation of his right leg above the knee.  As well as supporting with day-to-day administration, he supports our social media partner with the creation of media content. His hobbies are playing the guitar, cycling and an array of other sports. 

Ian Bishop -Events Assistant

'Bish' was one of the first beneficiaries to join On Course Foundation upon inception in 2010. He is a former Royal Marine, serving with 45 Commando in Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone, Iraq and Afghanistan. The latter is where he sustained his injuries which led to the amputation of both of his legs. He now supports the operations team, delivering events throughout the UK and this has allowed us to continue to expand our programme. A resident of Spain, Bish continues to play golf on a regular basis at Mijas Golf Club - playing off a impressive single figure handicap. He is also an avid Southampton FC supporter.
