Our Golf Events

Introductory Golf event

Held in conjunction with the regional Personnel Recovery Units (PRUs) and veterans hubs, these events introduce Service personnel and veterans to what we do, how golf can provide a unique platform for their confidence to grow and what opportunities are available to them in the golf industry.

The event aims to provide:

• Introductory golf training led by our dedicated Advanced PGA Teaching Professionals
• An introduction to the On Course Foundation employment programme and the support on offer
• A comfortable atmosphere for all in attendance, where likeminded individuals can experience the confidence and camaraderie that golf offers

These events aim to encourage attendees along to our Golf Skills & Employment events, where they become Members, and experience the pathway to recovery that golf can offer.

This event is open to all levels of golfer; from beginners through to advanced. If you are interested in attending please contact us.

– Simpson Cup

Named after the founder of the On Course Foundation, the Simpson Cup is an annual Ryder Cup styled tournament between 12 injured Servicemen and veterans from the UK and USA.

The competitors involved are all members of the On Course Foundation in the UK and our sister Foundation in the US with all funds remaining after running costs split between the two Foundations.

• RWGC 150th

RWGC 150th' OCF and RWGC Anniversary

2015 is a significant year in the golf calendar as it marks both On Course Foundation’s 5th Anniversary and the 150th Anniversary of Royal Wimbledon Golf Club.

In honour of this, we are proud to offer a select number of companies and individuals the opportunity to join us in celebrating these occasions by attending a very special golf day on September 16th 2015.

We are fortunate enough to be hosting this event at Royal Wimbledon Golf Club, the ideal location to mark these milestones As a venue, Royal Wimbledon not only represents one of the finest golf courses in the country, but it is also the place where On Course Foundation first started its journey. John Simpson, the Founder of the charity and long serving Member of the Club, first piloted our initiative on the famous practice green back in 2009. As such, we expect the day to be the perfect opportunity to commemorate all that has been accomplished in the last five years, and all that we aim to do in the coming years.

If you would like more information, please contact Sarah Robbie on 020 8334 2010, or email sarah.robbie@oncoursefoundation.com.

"To me, OCF is so much more than just a great way to learn and improve my golf. The Foundation is fantastic in bringing together guys that might not have had the opportunity to play such a sport before, and show them not only how inclusive it is, but how it helps build confidence. It’s through this confidence that I have been able to secure employment with their help. Now the sport that I love is helping me every day in rehabilitation, something I had never even considered before."

"The On Course Foundation to me is something that I am immensely proud to be a part of…on top of all the great things they do, they also help us with employment in the golf industry; I myself have recently secured a work placement with American Golf and also a promising meeting with Titleist. I personally can’t thank them enough in the way they have helped me with my recovery."

"Through the OCF I have developed my confidence as well as my golf skills. I have joined a local golf club and now play with other people. PTSD is a hidden wound, it is not a clearly visible injury, and golf is an ideal sport where you can find temporary peace from issues in your mind."
