What we do

What we do main imageOur strong relationships with Defence Recovery Capability and the Personnel Recovery Units (PRUs) around the UK allow us to reach more Service personnel who haven’t yet heard of us and don’t know how we can help them.

We’re committed to helping veterans as well, who suffer from physical and mental injuries. No matter when an injury took place, everyone is welcome to attend one of our events.

We introduce Service personnel to what we do through our Introductory Golf Events held at golf clubs close to each PRU. These aim to introduce potential new members to golf and encourage them to attend our Golf Skills & Employment Events.

Our Golf Skills & Employment Events allow our attendees to fully explore how golf can help them on the road to recovery, and how the industry can provide employment. Members receive not only comprehensive golf tuition from our training professionals, but career advice and guidance from industry professionals in golf course management, greenkeeping and marketing to name but a few.

Our main aim is to offer work experience placements to our members, leading to employment. We’re committed to finding roles to fit their skills and knowledge, and helping them pursue a meaningful career in the golf industry. Employment is key to what we do, building self-esteem and confidence in our members and supporting their goal of getting back on course.

"Golf...has given me focus and drive that I relish and thrive on. It has expedited my recovery both mentally and physically. The feeling of standing on the first tee is second to none. I am so grateful for all that On Course Foundation has done for Service personnel, serving or ex."

"The On Course Foundation to me is something that I am immensely proud to be a part of…on top of all the great things they do, they also help us with employment in the golf industry; I myself have recently secured a work placement with American Golf and also a promising meeting with Titleist. I personally can’t thank them enough in the way they have helped me with my recovery."

"Through the OCF I have developed my confidence as well as my golf skills. I have joined a local golf club and now play with other people. PTSD is a hidden wound, it is not a clearly visible injury, and golf is an ideal sport where you can find temporary peace from issues in your mind."

"To me, OCF is so much more than just a great way to learn and improve my golf. The Foundation is fantastic in bringing together guys that might not have had the opportunity to play such a sport before, and show them not only how inclusive it is, but how it helps build confidence. It’s through this confidence that I have been able to secure employment with their help. Now the sport that I love is helping me every day in rehabilitation, something I had never even considered before."
