The determined GB outfit put on a masterclass in the singles matches at the Lower Course to lift the trophy.
On Course to the Open - Finale at St Andrews 
Finishing off our epic 1,453 kilometre beneficiary led relay from Royal St Georges to St Andrews, so far raising over £24,000 to support On Course Foundation.

Beneficiary Spotlight - James Smith 
'Smudge' was blown up by an Improvised Explosive Device whilst serving in Afghanistan, which left him requiring a double below knee amputation amongst other injuries. At On Course Foundation we know that golf is one of a few sports that can be played on a level playing field regardless of their injury or illness - and James is the prime example of this.

Beneficiary Spotlight - Scott Robertson 
Scott Robertson was medically discharged from the Royal Signals after a diagnosis of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder from various tours of Afghanistan. In recovery and still relatively new to golf, Scott credits On Course Foundation with saving his life. This is his recovery story.

Support from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust 
We were awarded a grant of £35,000 from the Armed Forces Covenant Fund Trust to support veterans in the North East of England and we are delighted to report on a successful 12 month period.

Beneficiary Spotlight - John Connelly 
John Connelly has had a difficult time with various injuries disrupting his military career. As part of his recovery from his latest injury, John decided to give golf a try despite never having played the game before.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Andy Stevens 
Andy Stevens is a retired Lieutenant Colonel, serving for 33 years before suffering from a mental health crisis which led to his medical discharge in 2014. Through On Course Foundation he has ben able to re-engage with golf and the military community, helping him with his recovery.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Dave Rausch 
Dave Rausch military career came to an end when he was shot in the arm whilst serving with the Royal Military Police in Northern Ireland. Dave has had the full On Course Foundation experience, attending several events (including the warm weather training event in Menorca) and finding part-time employment as a greenkeeper at Wensleydale Golf Club in Yorkshire.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Pete Roberts 
Pete Roberts served for ten years as a Senior Aircraftsman in the RAF before suffering from a prolapsed disc whilst exercising. Through an On Course Foundation Introductory Golf Event in conjunction with the Battle Back Centre, Pete was introduced to golf for the first-time.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Cornelia Oosthuizen 
Cornelia Oosthuizen's life has been the military and sport and it was this combination that unfortunately led to her medical discharge. During her recovery and alongside participation in other sports, Cornelia decided to give golf a try, which turned out to be fruitful, both for her mental well-being and competitive achievements.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Richard Marsden 
Richard served in the with Scots Guards in the Falklands and subsequently suffers from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder as a result of his experiences. He played golf on and off since his childhood but after joining On Course Foundation this became more of a regularity, seeing it as a focus and distraction from his illness.

Beneficiary Spotlight Nathan Blewer 
A former Troop Seargent in the 2nd Royal Tank Regiment, Nathan Blewer's life changed after suffering multiple injuries from an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) in Helmand Province. Read about his on-going recovery and how he has become a self confessed 'golf addict'!

Beneficiary Spotlight - Chris Byrne 
Chris Byrne had a successful 23 career in the military, reaching the rank of WO2. Unfortunately he has since suffered various physical injuries and mental health related issues leading to the end of his career.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Michael Leather 
Michael 'Mini' Leather joined the Army to follow in the footsteps of his dad and enjoyed a 12 year military career before a medical discharge left him searching for a form of therapy to support his mental well-being.

Beneficiary Spotlight - Nick Fleming 
Nick Fleming was in the early stages of a promising military career with the Royal Marines before seriously injuring his knee whilst playing rugby. He needed something to give him a focus during his recovery and he was introduced to golf via a week long On Course Foundation event. His progress since, both on and off the course, has been amazing to see - significantly improving his golf and building confidence via work experience placements which has helped him to find a meaningful, alternative career.

National Golf Club Challenge Christmas Raffle 
Raising funds for On Course Foundation, NGCC Founder Stacey Jeffries has put together 70 fantastic raffles prizes which includes four-balls, golf equipment, golf technology and signed memorabilia. Tickets are £1 (minimum spend £5).

On Course Foundation awarded grant from the People's Postcode Trust 
We are delighted to have received a grant of £10,498 to support the expansion of our programme throughout Scotland.
Beneficiary Spotlight - Julie Porter 
Julie Porter's military career was but short after a diagnosis of Scheuermann's disease (curvature of the thoracic spine) left her struggling with day-to-day military tasks. Through and event with Edinburgh Recovery Centre she was introduced to On Course Foundation and hasn't looked back since.

Beneficiary Spotlight - Kate Surman 
Kate Surman had served in the Army since the year 2000, before being diagnosed with a rare form of Ewings Sarcoma of the lower mandible. As a result she had to have a year of chemotherapy and significant surgery to remove her jaw and rebuild using her whole left fibula. Read about how golf helped her recovery.
