The On Course Foundation supports the recovery of wounded, injured and sick (WIS) Servicemen, women and veterans, through the medium of golf.
Our programme of activities restores self-confidence and provides a sense of purpose after injury, which, invariably, has left individuals without hope for the future and, in the case of the very many that are subsequently discharged from the Services on medical grounds, without a career.
We recognise the unique position of golf as one of the few sports where players of all skills and experience, and of all physical abilities, can play together on a level playing field because of the official golf handicap system. Golf offers WIS Servicemen, women and veterans a sporting challenge not easily possible in other sports and, for those leaving the Services, the golf industry offers a wide range of attractive employment opportunities.
From 2013, On Course Foundation USA, a 501 (c) (3) registered organisation, will replicate the UK Charity for injured US Servicemen, women and veterans.
